Out and About

I have managed to visit some lovely places in Oxfordshire recently. The newly re-opened Oxford University Museum of Natural History is in a beautiful neo-Gothic building with a huge collection of natural wonders to look at. In fact, there are far too many to take in on just one visit, so I'm sure I will return. The amazing roof (which sounds incredible in a downpour) lets in loads of light and highlights the great displays like the dinosaurs, and the cetacean skeletons suspended from the metal arches above.

Just out to the east of Oxford is the lovely little CS Lewis Nature Reserve, once owned by the author (there is a blue plaque on his house at the entrance) and believed to have offered some inspiration for the creation of Narnia. There were some early blooms around and the pond looked lovely under a bright, blue sky.

Just the other night there was a beautiful full moon rise which I enjoyed and photographed from my bedroom window.
